Who can help me defend my case in Court?
Monday, May 4th, 2009Hello Everyone,
If you took the time to read the other articles in this blog, you already know that the most responsible person for defending your case in court, (whatever the type of ticket), is a paralegal. (See Traffic Ticket Advisory Services).
Where can you find a paralegal capable of defending your ticket?
The best place to find a paralegal capable of defending your ticket is in the jurisdiction where the offense was committed! Perhaps you received a ticket in Ottawa, Brockville or Cornwall but you live in Toronto or Montreal? Your first reflex is to turn to a paralegal in your city of residence. Wrong!
The problem lies where he/she will be unable to represent you directly in court, and he/she will wind-up going through a 3rd party (also a paralegal) in the jurisdiction where the ticket was issued.
Moreover, it is important to remember that using a paralegal from the area where the offense was committed (without a 3rd party) facilitates the exchange of information, and is often given priority in relation to cases referred by other agencies.
With the use of a 3rd party, it will obviously incur additional fees…
In order for you to get the best defence at a reasonable cost, it is preferable to use a paralegal from the jurisdiction in which you received your ticket.
